Telemundo anuncio este jueves 12 de septiembre que periodista Mexicano Edgardo del Villar será parte del equipo noticiero de Telemundo. Edgardo será un correspondiente para varios programas como “Un Nuevo Día, “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste” y “Noticiero Telemundo.

Miami – September 12, 2013 – Telemundo Media announced this Thursday, September 12 that distinguished Mexican journalist Edgardo del Villar will join the Noticias Telemundo team. Edgardo del Villar will serve as a correspondent and fill-in presenter for a number of the Hispanic network’s programs, including “Un Nuevo Día,” “Al Rojo Vivo con María Celeste” and “Noticiero Telemundo.”  Edgardo del Villar has enjoyed a successful career in his native Mexico, where he spent 12 years as anchor of “Las Noticias,” Televisa’s primetime newscast in Monterrey.

“Edgardo is one of the most respected rising voices in Mexican journalism today, and his decision to join our news team brings added credibility to the most trusted news team in Hispanic television,” remarked Sylvia Rosabal, Senior Vice President of Network News at Telemundo Media.  “We are confident that Edgardo will leave his mark on our audience and that his presence will help us consolidate Noticias Telemundo’s growth.”

Besides his television work, Edgardo del Villar was a news director and anchor for various radio networks, including MVS, Radio Fórmula and Núcleo Radio Monterrey for over 10 years. He also served as an advisor to the Editorial Board of “Grupo Reforma,” Mexico’s largest newspaper group. He holds a Master’s degree in public policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s in Marketing and Business Administration from Mexico’s Universidad Iberoamericana and is a graduate of Harvard’s Global Leadership and Public Policy program.  Edgardo del Villar now lives in South Florida with his wife Mayela and their daughter, Dana.
